28th LASDON ANTIQUES FAIR

KATONAH, NY.The 28th annual Lasdon Labor Day Antiques Fair returns to the beautiful Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial on September 5 th , MONDAY, (Labor Day). Show hours are 10 AM and 5 PM. The day will feature $5 verbal appraisals from 11am - 3 pm conducted by Jenack Appraisers and Auctioneers of Chester, NY.

Bob Gordon will be returning to the show bringing his expertise in chair caning and re-gluing. Customers should bring their projects with them and Gordon will deliver the jobs when completed. He is skilled in all types of work.

What will be found on the vast lawn of this Westchester County-owned 234 acre former estate includes American art pottery including Stangl; primitives; early toys; Oriental carpets; 17 th - 19 th C. Botanical and Audubon bird and Quadrupeds prints; 16 th - 19 th C. maps of local, National and International interest; country cottage furniture; garden and patio wrought iron furniture; garden tools; banks; door stops; 1930's- 50's kitchen, barware and picnic accessories with an art deco flair. There will be china; glassware; fine antique, estate and vintage costume jewelry including a collection of men's cufflinks; paintings; Shabby Chic; lighting; books; Victoriana; French enamelware; cobalt art glass; silver; Persian rug pillows; New England Farming tools; ephemera; linens and textiles; Native American and Mexican silver and jewelry; framed tobacco cards; Oak, pine and walnut furniture; and so much more.

Always a happening, the antiques show features more than sixty booths in large, easy to navigate spaces just packed with authentic vintage treasures. Cord Shows will not knowingly permit reproductions or new merchandise and all sales are guaranteed to this extent. Gary Dillon will provide music to shop and picnic by, under the big tent. His repertoire of contemporary popular standards appeals to all age groups and his music is, in itself, worth the price of admission!

The Friends of Lasdon, even though they have a garden shop on the property, take advantage of the large show turnout to educate and sell plants just in time for the Fall season . The grounds and arboretum are open for strolling but dogs are NOT permitted anywhere at Lasdon Park and should be left at home, not in cars.

Catered By James will have great food and Kettle Corn available. Admission, which benefits the future Glass House Conservatory at Lasdon Park , is $7 (under 13 free). Most booths are tented so this is a rain or shine event with plenty of free on-site parking. Lasdon Park is on Route 35, (2610 Amawalk Road), halfway between Katonah and Yorktown Heights. From Route 684 exit 6; turn West on Route 35 for 3.5 miles. From the Taconic Parkway take the exit for Yorktown/Rte 202/35 East; follow the signs for Route 35 turning left on Route 35 at the major intersection. Travel 4 miles and Lasdon will be on the right.
