JULY 4, 2012 Wednesday 9 AM - 5 PM 20th ANTIQUES IN THE CHURCH YARD, SUNDAY, JULY 4th - By W.A. Demers - Newtown Bee - Antique and Arts Weekly S. SALEM, NY On Wednesday, July 4 th , thousands of customers will join 120 quality antiques dealers for the 19 th year in Northern Westchester County's South Salem. Before the fireworks and the barbeques this tradition continues on the front lawn of tiny Stevens Memorial United Methodist Church, 8 Shady Lane at the corner of Route 123. Many wouldn't miss Antiques in the Church Yard. When the church bell rings at exactly 9 AM customers quickly fill the aisles. The last admission is taken at 4:30 PM. The traditional All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast served inside the church from 9 11am, is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Each year hundreds of early shoppers start this day well fortified. Great food and Kettle Corn are available all day. Dogs are not permitted, even the tiny carrying kind, and leaving dogs in a car is not an option. Robert Gordon (Marie's Chair Caning) from Saratoga Springs, NY, will be available to accept chair caning, and re-gluing jobs at the show. The show is sponsored by David Lerner Associates. From the Merritt Parkway exit 38 follow Route 123 North for 8 miles. From Route 684 exit 6 follow Route 35 East for 9 miles and turn right onto Route 123 towards Vista for approximately two miles. From Route 7 follow Route 35 West to Route 123. By train, the closest station is in New Canaan, CT, where cabs are located.
