JULY 4, 2008 Friday 9 AM - 5 PM S. SALEM/VISTA, NY…On Friday, July 4th, the show with the charm and the excitement of a birthday celebration returns to the tiny Stevens Memorial United Methodist Church. The front lawn will be filled to capacity in South Salem/Vista, NY, at 8 Shady Lane on the corner of Route 123. The atmosphere of this charming country show suggests being far away yet, in actuality, the location is convenient and in Westchester County on the border of New Canaan, Norwalk and Ridgefield, CT. It is easily reached from either the Merritt Parkway by taking exit 38 onto Route 123 North for 8 miles or by taking exit 6 off Route 684 and traveling about 9 miles East on Route 35, turning right onto Route 123. By train, the closest station is New Canaan where cabs are located. This 120 dealer show opens promptly at 9 AM with the sounding of the Church Bell and from the sound of the bell until the 5 PM closing, the aisles will be filled with customers who come for the fresh merchandise brought by dealers from all across the country. The traditional All You Can Eat Country Breakfast, served inside the church for $5, also starts at 9:00 and closes at 11:00 AM. Last year hundreds of hungry early shoppers started their day well fortified. The popular Grandma's Attic of donated items for the benefit of the Church will open simultaneously. Naturally lunch, Kettle Corn and Fruit Smoothies will add to the festivities. Just a sampling of the merchandise which will be offered is as follows: American Art Pottery; early toys; 17th - 19th C. maps (including local, state and international); shoe factory racks; wooden yarn spools; country cottage furniture; antique tools for the kitchen and farm; folk art; architectural elements; furniture in original paint; dolls; oak furniture; Victoriana; 1950's kitchen and barware with an Art Deco flair; English Staffordshire; Orientalia; handmade Oriental rugs and tapestries; vintage linens, lace, textiles and quilts; lightening rods and weathervanes; Royal Doulton; military memorabilia; ephemera and postcards; photographica; advertising; white ironstone and Yellowware; Graniteware; toleware and tole store bins; Chinese Export; fine antique, estate and vintage costume jewelry; paintings; formal furniture; Depression Glass; lamps; silver flatware and hollowware; vintage clothing, purses, hats and ladies accessories; French enamelware; books and travel memorabilia; sewing accessories; antique cameras; Victorian mourning and hair jewelry; garden accessories and vintage wrought iron patio furniture; antique floral, animal and bird prints; Mexican folk art; clocks; Australiana; English Royal memorabilia; Majolica; knife boxes; spice tins; perfume bottles; Flow Blue; antique sporting goods; spool cabinets and showcases from country stores; Susie Cooper, Belleek, Shelley, English Romantic Transferware, and Lenox tea ware and tea balls; miniature frames; Rural Americana; Woodstock art; hand painted Nippon; bamboo furniture; Italian tole chandeliers and sconces; Victorian floral paintings; old Navajo and Southwestern and Mexican jewelry and accessories; vintage watches, cameos; and coins.
